To gather concrete evidence, a three-member team from the Delhi Police Crime Branch, led by SI Vineet Kumar, visited the Chief Medical Officer's office in the concerned district. The team thoroughly scrutinized administrative files and interrogated key officials regarding the issuance of these suspicious medical certificates.
During the preliminary questioning, a local department clerk reportedly confessed to his involvement in generating these fraudulent documents. Investigators are now probing deeper to identify other accomplices, middlemen, and beneficiaries who may be part of this widespread corruption network.
Systematic Summons Issued to Responsible Officials
As part of the ongoing probe, the investigative agency has issued formal summons to various officials and employees. The clerk and the computer operator associated with issuing disability certificates were called to the Crime Branch office on successive dates for intensive questioning regarding digital and physical records.
Furthermore, the nodal officer for disability matters, holding the rank of Deputy CMO, has also been summoned to appear before the investigative team. The police aim to ascertain lapses in administrative oversight and determine whether official collusion facilitated this illegal operation.
