Boosting Wildlife Tourism Around Kuno National Park
Kuno National Park in Madhya Pradesh has emerged as a major focal point for wildlife enthusiasts following the historic translocation of cheetahs. To make travel smoother and more convenient for visitors, the administration has launched a unique initiative to install special directional and informational signboards across major highways and national highways in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Uttar Pradesh.
These signboards will feature vivid photographs of cheetahs along with clear distance markers pointing toward Kuno. The primary objective is to catch the attention of daily commuters and travelers, inspiring them to include the wildlife sanctuary in their travel itineraries and easily navigate their way to Sheopur district.
Key Routes and Cities Identified for Signage
The extensive promotion campaign targets major transit hubs and tourist corridors across the three neighboring states. Prominent cities in Rajasthan such as Kota, Sawai Madhopur, and Jaipur have been selected, alongside historic Jhansi in Uttar Pradesh. In Madhya Pradesh, crucial stretches in Gwalior, Guna, Morena, and Shivpuri will be equipped with these signposts.
In addition to guiding motorists toward Kuno, these boards will also display distances to other notable regional attractions like the Ranthambore National Park and Chambal Safari. This integrated approach aims to create a comprehensive tourism circuit for travelers exploring central and northern India.
Upgrading Facilities at Tiktoli and Ahera Gates
Alongside outdoor promotion, infrastructure within the park is witnessing major upgrades. The prominent entry points, specifically the Tiktoli and Ahera gates, are being redesigned to offer a more welcoming and modern experience to tourists. New ticket counters and dedicated tourist facilitation centers are currently under development to streamline entry procedures.
Officials noted that these improvements will eliminate long queues and ensure a hassle-free entry process for safari-goers. Furthermore, online ticketing systems are being optimized to allow seamless advance bookings for visitors planning their trips from distant cities.

By making navigation effortless and enhancing visibility along major national highways, the administration expects a significant surge in tourist footfall.
