The Rise of Devotional Cinema: Hanuman Ansh Breaks Records
In recent times, films based on spiritual and cultural themes have taken the Indian box office by storm. Among these, the devotional movie 'Hanuman Ansh', which hit the silver screens on August 7, has achieved unprecedented success. The movie had a very humble beginning, collecting just 10 lakh rupees on its opening day, leading many to write it off initially.
During the first two weeks, collections remained stagnant, and theater owners even trimmed down its shows. However, the tables turned remarkably from the third week onwards. Word of mouth propelled the movie forward, transforming it into a massive box office phenomenon.
Strong Sunday Collections on Day 59
Completing two months in theaters is a rare feat in today's fast-paced cinematic landscape, but Hanuman Ansh has accomplished just that. On its 59th day, which marked the ninth Sunday of its theatrical run, the film managed to pull in an impressive 2.88 crore rupees.
Screened across 1,292 shows with a healthy 58 percent occupancy, this stellar Sunday boost brought its total domestic net collection to an astonishing 324.61 crore rupees, while gross collection crossed 383.36 crore rupees globally.
