Hanuman Ansh Completes 60 Days in Theatres: Devotional Film Continues Steady Run
In the dynamic world of Indian cinema, small-budget films occasionally defy all expectations to script historic box office success stories. Directed by Vishal Chaturvedi, the devotional movie 'Hanuman Ansh' has emerged as one of the most profitable cinematic ventures of recent times. Having successfully completed 60 days in theatres, the film continues to draw audiences despite entering its second month of screening.
According to trade tracking reports, the film started modestly with a Rs 10 lakh opening day collection. While early weeks saw subdued numbers due to limited screen counts, word-of-mouth publicity propelled its momentum exponentially from the third week onwards. Even on a weekday like Monday following a strong weekend where it collected around Rs 3 crore, the film managed to pull in approximately Rs 65 lakhs, proving its solid grip on the audience.
Made on a Modest 2 Crore Budget, Film Crosses 400 Crores Worldwide
The core success of 'Hanuman Ansh' lies in its unprecedented return on investment. Produced on a lean budget of just Rs 2 crore, the film based on the life and teachings of Neem Karoli Baba has surpassed the monumental Rs 400 crore mark globally. Bollywood actress Richa Chadha recently weighed in on the film's phenomenal run, noting that devotional and mythological themes naturally resonate strongly with Indian audiences, making them reliable choices for viewers.
Director Vishal Chaturvedi also made headlines recently when he released an informative video addressing the massive congestion and crowds gathering at the renowned Kainchi Dham ashram in Uttarakhand. Concerned about the safety and comfort of families and children visiting the shrine, he urged devotees to also visit alternative associated spiritual sites if overcrowding poses an issue.
