Addressing the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine, India has once again made its diplomatic position crystal clear. The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) stated during a briefing that India firmly believes dialogue and diplomacy are the way forward, reiterating Prime Minister Narendra Modi's assertion that this is not an era of war.
During a high-level meeting in Bishkek with Russian President Vladimir Putin, the Indian leadership underscored that the time has come to shift focus from an endless conflict to the termination of hostilities. India maintains active communication channels with both Moscow and Kyiv in an effort to facilitate peace and stability.
India's Constructive Role on Practical Fronts
According to the MEA, India's constructive approach has been acknowledged and appreciated by both sides. External Affairs Ministry officials highlighted that India is actively assisting in addressing critical humanitarian and economic concerns, such as ensuring safe maritime navigation in the Black Sea and facilitating discussions surrounding grain and energy exports.
Furthermore, exploratory talks regarding non-aggression possibilities and immediate security concerns of both nations are being supported through active diplomatic engagement. Both Russia and Ukraine have welcomed New Delhi's balanced and objective approach in mitigating global supply chain disruptions caused by the war.
No Solution on the Battlefield
Reiterating that no sustainable solution can emerge from the battlefield, India continues to advocate for a cessation of hostilities through peaceful negotiations. As global powers search for diplomatic breakthroughs, India's mediatory and humanitarian initiatives continue to garner international prominence.
