Special Train Announced for Festive Season Rush
As the festive season approaches, the rush of passengers traveling home to celebrate with their families increases manifold. Securing a confirmed train ticket during major festivals like Diwali and Chhath becomes a monumental task for common citizens. Addressing this perennial challenge, Indian Railways has announced the operation of a weekly special train between Jodhpur and Gorakhpur to facilitate smooth travel for commuters.
This special service aims to strengthen connectivity between western and northern India, passing through multiple key states including Rajasthan, Haryana, Delhi, and Uttar Pradesh. The initiative is designed to alleviate severe waitlists on regular trains and provide a reliable alternative for travelers heading home for the holidays.
Comprehensive Route and Multi-State Connectivity
The weekly special train will connect numerous districts across four major states. Originating from Jodhpur in Rajasthan, the train will traverse through various towns in Haryana, pass through the National Capital Region, and extend deep into the plains of Uttar Pradesh.
Transport experts note that introducing additional services along this high-demand corridor significantly relieves pressure on regular express and mail trains. Commuters residing in smaller towns along the route will no longer need to rely exclusively on expensive buses or private vehicles to reach their destinations during peak festive days.
Schedule, Timings, and Operational Details
According to the official schedule released by railway authorities, train number 04829 Jodhpur-Gorakhpur Weekly Special will operate every Thursday from October 1 to November 26. Departing from Jodhpur at 4:15 PM, the train reaches Gorakhpur at 8:30 PM the following day. On the return journey, train number 04830 will run every Friday from October 2 to November 27, leaving Gorakhpur at 11:25 PM and arriving in Jodhpur at 5:30 AM the next morning.
The train makes scheduled halts at prominent junctions, enabling seamless boarding and deboarding for passengers across different regions. Travelers are advised to check the exact timings and book their berths in advance through official railway ticketing platforms.
Composition and Coach Configuration
To accommodate a large volume of passengers, the special train comprises twenty modern coaches. The composition includes two second AC coaches, four third AC coaches, and eight sleeper class coaches, catering to passengers seeking comfortable overnight journeys.
Additionally, four general unreserved coaches and two guard luggage vans are integrated into the rake to accommodate budget travelers. This comprehensive arrangement ensures that a wide cross-section of the traveling public can benefit from the special service.
