Kao), the founder and first chief of RAW, to the silver screen. The upcoming film is not a fictionalized drama but is adapted from noted journalist and author Nitin Gokhale's acclaimed book, 'R.N. Kao: Gentleman Spymaster'. Karan Johar will produce the film under his banner Dharma Productions in collaboration with Leo Media Collective. While the director and the lead actor to portray R.N. Tracing the Journey from 1955 to the 1971 War
The narrative of the film will reportedly begin around 1955, exploring the socio-political climate that necessitated a dedicated foreign intelligence agency. It will chronicle how Kao navigated various administrative and geopolitical hurdles to lay the foundation of RAW.
The storyline will eventually progress toward the 1971 India-Pakistan war and the liberation of Bangladesh, highlighting RAW's pivotal role in covert operations during the conflict under Kao's visionary leadership.
