He was invited under the pretext of attending an award function and was taken hostage at gunpoint, remaining in the captors' custody for nearly 12 hours.

The most shocking part of this ordeal was that the criminals were convinced that Mushtaq Khan was a big, wealthy Bollywood star. They believed that an artist working in multi-crore films must possess massive wealth. However, when Mushtaq revealed the reality of his earnings, the kidnappers were left stunned and demanded a ransom of 1 crore rupees.

Mushtaq Khan had revealed that in late October 2024, he received a call from a person offering him an award function in Meerut. After finalizing a fee of around 75,000 rupees and receiving advance payments along with a flight ticket from Mumbai to Delhi, he suspected nothing. Upon reaching Delhi on November 20, he was diverted into another vehicle by armed men and blindfolded to an isolated location.

The Azaan That Saved His Life

It was one of the scariest nights of his life. However, around 5:45 AM, Mushtaq heard the sound of the Azaan and realized a mosque must be nearby. Seizing the opportunity while his captors were asleep, he managed to escape, reached the nearby mosque, and sought help from locals to contact his family and police.
