Major Terrorist Plot Thwarted in Kashmir, Five Terror Associates Arrested with Weapons

Security forces in Jammu and Kashmir have successfully thwarted a major terror conspiracy by arresting five suspected terrorist associates during a joint operation. The coordinated raid led to the recovery of a significant cache of arms and ammunition, averting potential threats in the region.

Joint Operation Leads to Recovery of Arms

Acting on credible intelligence inputs, the local police, along with 9RR and the 18th Battalion of the CRPF, launched a targeted operation. During the crackdown, five individuals suspected of aiding terrorists were apprehended. A thorough search of their possession yielded 2 pistols, 3 magazines, 40 rounds of 9mm ammunition, and 3 hand grenades. Authorities noted that these individuals operated as over-ground workers (OGWs) or logistics facilitators for active terror outfits.

Identification and Ongoing Investigation

The arrested suspects have been identified as Tajamul Hussain Mir, Rahmat Ali Naikoo, Tahreem Ahmed Bhat, Manzoor Ahmed Bhat, and Kifayat Ahmed Dar, all residents of neighboring localities. Law enforcement agencies are currently interrogating the accused to uncover their wider network, intended targets, and potential handlers across the border.

A formal case has been registered under relevant sections of the law at the local police station, and further investigations are currently underway to track down any remaining accomplices.
