An Inspiring Journey for Rural Youth
In rural areas, employment remains a major challenge for young graduates. While most migrate to big cities in search of petty jobs, a few dare to dream differently. Kush Singh, a resident of Majhariya village in Lakhimpur Kheri, Uttar Pradesh, has scripted a remarkable success story by shunning a low-paying job to establish his own dairy venture.
Starting with a modest salary of Rs 10,000 per month at a local dairy in Paliya, Kush utilized that time not just to earn, but to master the nuances of the dairy sector, including milk collection, quality checks, processing, and market demand. His hands-on experience became the foundation of his entrepreneurial journey.
Government Support and Business Expansion
To turn his dream into reality, Kush availed a loan of approximately five lakh rupees in 2021 under the Chief Minister Youth Employment Generation Program (Mukhyamantri Yuva Rojgar Srijan Karyakram). He invested the funds into setting up a milk collection and processing unit.
Today, he collects around six quintals of milk daily and transforms it into high-demand products like paneer, mava (khoya), and lassi. By procuring advanced machinery from Bulandshahr and Lucknow, he ensured better quality and efficiency. His venture not only generates handsome profits for him but also provides employment opportunities for locals in his village, proving that rural entrepreneurship holds immense potential.
