Garba-Dandia Festival Cancelled for Farmers' Plight, Special Mahayagya Held in Maharashtra

In view of the deepening drought crisis and farmers' hardships in Maharashtra, the festive spirit of Navratri looks a bit different in Dombivli this year. The grand annual 'Rasrang' Garba-Dandia festival has been completely cancelled. Instead of this major entertainment event, the organizers have prioritized praying for the well-being of farmers, adequate water for farming, and the prosperity of Maharashtra. The Navratrotsav began with religious rituals and a grand Mahayagya.

Special Mahayagya Organized for Farmers Amid Drought

The Navratrotsav has been organized by Dr. Shrikant Shinde Foundation and Shri Navdurga Yuva Mandal at the D.N.C. School ground in Dombivli East. Kalyan Lok Sabha MP Dr. Shrikant Eknath Shinde was also present at the event. The main message of this year's celebration is solidarity with farmers and prayers for their prosperity.

To address the drought situation and farmers' grievances, a Navkundatmaka Sahasrachandi Mahayagya was organized. The organizers prayed that farmers find relief from the drought crisis, get sufficient water for agriculture, and witness renewed prosperity. The rituals and havan were performed amidst Vedic chanting under the guidance of Principal Vedmurti Ravindraji Pathak.

Musical Evening with Rahul Deshpande

Following the morning rituals, the cultural events in the evening commenced with a musical performance by renowned singer Rahul Deshpande. Popular for his distinctive singing style in classical and theatrical music, Deshpande's performance filled the D.N.C. School ground with a melodious atmosphere, drawing a large gathering of music enthusiasts.

This year's Navratrotsav in Dombivli successfully balanced social responsibility towards farmers with cultural preservation through classical music, giving the festival a unique and compassionate identity.
