Ever since its second-generation avatar took the market by storm in late 2020, this vehicle has enjoyed an unprecedented cult following among driving enthusiasts and off-roaders alike. With this fresh update, the manufacturer has successfully addressed various practical concerns and user grievances that previously troubled daily commuters and long-distance travelers.
Priced competitively with an entry-level tag starting at 10.32 lakh rupees, this new variant aims to democratize rugged styling and robust performance. Industry analysts note that this strategic pricing and engineering overhaul will likely give a massive boost to the company's monthly sales figures while keeping competitors on their toes.

One of the most persistent criticisms of older models was the stiff ride quality, which often made long journeys fatiguing for passengers. Mahindra has completely overhauled this aspect by equipping the Thar OG with a newly developed rear penta-link suspension system integrated with frequency-dependent damping technology, famously termed by the brand as 'DaVinci Dampers'. Furthermore, the adoption of the updated M_Glyde 4G platform drastically improves the structural rigidity of the vehicle.

Simultaneously, the 2.0-litre mStallion turbo-petrol motor has also been tweaked to produce 159.5 bhp and 330 Nm, eclipsing the previous 150 bhp output. This ensures that scaling steep inclines and executing quick overtaking maneuvers on highways is remarkably seamless.
Significant Cost Reductions and Automatic RWD Option
In a welcome move for buyers looking for everyday convenience, Mahindra has introduced a rear-wheel-drive automatic configuration for the 2.2-litre diesel mill. Priced at 16.49 lakh rupees, this variant undercuts the older four-wheel-drive diesel automatic model, which previously retailed around 18 lakh rupees. Buyers can effectively save nearly 1.50 lakh rupees while enjoying the effortless comfort of an automatic transmission.
Additionally, the replacement of the heavy hydraulic steering setup with a responsive electric power steering unit completely resolves the cumbersome steering effort that drivers previously faced in tight parking spots and heavy traffic conditions.
