Mika Singh Criticizes Diljit Dosanjh's Promotional Priorities
Popular Punjabi singer and actor Diljit Dosanjh has been ruling the global entertainment scene with his massive concerts and widespread fan following. While his music continues to break records, his involvement in Bollywood film promotions has recently sparked a controversy. Acclaimed singer Mika Singh has openly questioned Diljit's commitment to promoting major Hindi film projects, drawing a sharp comparison with his approach towards international or cross-border collaborations.
In a recent media interaction, Mika Singh praised Diljit's unprecedented global success, acknowledging that after his own brother Daler Mehndi, Diljit is the only turbaned artist to achieve such massive international stardom. Mika clarified that he holds no jealousy toward Diljit; rather, he feels proud of his achievements. However, Mika expressed deep disappointment regarding how Diljit handles the promotional campaigns for major Hindi cinema.
The Controversy Over 'Border 2' Promotion
Focusing on the multi-starrer patriotic film 'Border 2', which featured Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, Ahan Shetty, and Diljit Dosanjh earlier this year, Mika Singh alleged that Diljit completely ignored promoting the film. According to Mika, Diljit did not put in even one percent effort to support the massive national project on his social media handles or acknowledge veteran star Sunny Deol.
Mika emphasized that given 'Border 2' is one of the biggest patriotic films celebrating the Indian armed forces, actors featuring in it have a moral duty to amplify its reach. While internet records show Diljit did share a first look and some behind-the-scenes clips, the aggressive promotional push expected from a top-tier star was missing, which fueled Mika's criticism.
"I might be wrong, but I feel when Border 2 was released, Diljit didn't promote it even one percent. He never thanked Sunny Ji. When you work in Bollywood, you should respect and promote the industry." — Mika Singh, Singer
Highlighting the Contrast with Pakistani Actress Project
Mika Singh further contrasted this with Diljit's enthusiasm for his upcoming or recent projects, particularly 'Sardar Ji 3', which features Pakistani actress Hania Aamir. Mika claimed that Diljit was quite vocal about promoting projects involving cross-border artists while allegedly sidelining co-stars like Neeru Bajwa in his messaging.
The singer urged Diljit to maintain a balanced and responsible stance as a leading artist of the country. Despite his sharp words, Mika also recalled instances from the past where he stood firmly by Diljit during controversies and supported him during his struggling days in Mumbai by offering his studio facilities.
