Following Major Bhupinder Singh's abduction, the next seven days tested the resilience of his family and security agencies alike. Terrorists held him hostage and laid down various conditions. According to Nimrat, the demands made by the kidnappers were bizarre, including the release of prisoners held in Indian jails.
