Dengue Surge in Noida: 47 New Cases Reported in Five Days
The industrial city of Noida in Uttar Pradesh is witnessing a notable spike in dengue cases, raising concerns among health authorities. According to recent official data, the total number of dengue infections in the district has climbed to 201. What has alarmed health officials is that 47 of these cases were recorded within just the last five days, indicating an acceleration in the transmission rate of the vector-borne disease. Fortunately, health officials confirmed that all infected individuals are currently receiving treatment at private hospitals and their health condition remains stable and out of danger.
Following this sudden surge, the district health department has gone into overdrive. Medical teams are being deployed directly to localities and neighborhoods from where positive cases are reported. These teams are carrying out intensive house-to-house surveys, checking for mosquito breeding sites, and spraying anti-larva chemicals in and around the residences of patients to curb any further spread.
Heavy Influx of Patients at District Hospital OPD
Driven by seasonal fluctuations and shifting weather patterns, the outpatient department (OPD) of the district hospital is currently witnessing massive daily crowds. Hospital records indicate that nearly 3,000 to 4,000 patients visit the facility every single day. Of these, more than 60 percent are suffering from viral fevers, common colds, and other seasonal ailments. Medical experts explain that sudden weather changes and temperature oscillations are primarily responsible for the sudden surge in viral infections.
Senior doctors at the hospital emphasize that ignoring early fever symptoms could prove risky. They have strongly advised citizens to seek immediate medical consultation rather than self-medicating. People have also been urged to wear masks in crowded public places and maintain strict personal and environmental hygiene to prevent falling sick.
Noida Authority Launches Large-Scale Fogging and Anti-Larva Drive
Stepping up efforts to contain dengue, malaria, and chikungunya, the Noida Authority has rolled out a comprehensive anti-larva spraying and fogging campaign. A dedicated roster has been finalized covering all residential sectors, cooperative housing societies, and rural pockets across the city. Authority officials are personally overseeing the execution of the sanitation drives on the ground.
SP Singh, General Manager of the Noida Authority, stated that specialized teams have been deployed to treat stagnant water bodies, open drains, and construction pits with anti-larva solutions. Furthermore, evening fogging schedules have been activated in high-risk zones to eliminate adult mosquitoes before they can transmit pathogens.
Strict Action Against Water Stagnation, Notices Issued to 50 Establishments
The local administration has made it clear that negligence regarding public health will not be tolerated. Malaria department inspection teams have intensified surprise checks across commercial complexes, residential societies, and construction sites. Properties found with stagnant water or active mosquito breeding sites have faced immediate punitive actions, with over 50 institutions and individuals already slapped with formal notices.
District Malaria Officer Shruti Kirti Verma noted that active surveillance of all reported dengue patients is being maintained continuously. She warned that strict legal action will be initiated against any entity found flouting anti-vector guidelines.
"With the ongoing seasonal transition, practicing basic preventive measures can shield citizens from dengue and viral infections. While we are scaling up fogging and chemical treatments across the city, active public cooperation in preventing water stagnation remains vital." — SP Singh, General Manager, Noida Authority
