The appearance of a crow on the rooftop or balcony during Pitru Paksha holds special religious significance. Crows are traditionally viewed as messengers of Yamraj and representatives of ancestors. If a crow peacefully consumes the food offered on the roof, it signifies deep ancestral satisfaction, removal of pitru dosha, and potential financial gains.
Similarly, the presence of a black dog near the entrance carries profound meaning. Dogs are associated with Lord Bhairav and considered gatekeepers of Yamraj. Offering food to a stray black dog during these days wards off unforeseen dangers, neutralizes malefic planetary influences of Rahu-Ketu, and brings divine protection.

In Hinduism, the cow represents the abode of thirty-three crore deities. Setting aside a portion of food for the cow is a mandatory ritual during Shradh. If a cow voluntarily arrives at your doorstep and moos, it is considered an exceptionally auspicious omen. Feeding the first roti to a cow brings health, lineage growth, and unbroken prosperity.

Bringing new clothes, gold, silver ornaments, vehicles, property, or iron items into the house during Shradh is believed to invite negativity and disrupt mental peace.
