Internal Conflicts and Serious Allegations at Kelikunj Ashram
The renowned Kelikunj Ashram of spiritual leader Sant Premanand Maharaj in Mathura has landed in the middle of a major controversy. Internal strife and sensational claims regarding the ashram's management have surfaced, causing significant concern among devotees and administrative circles. The situation escalated when Dinesh Falahari Maharaj, president of the Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi Sangharsh Nyas, wrote a direct letter to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, demanding a high-level inquiry into the ashram's properties, missing children, and overall security.
According to media reports and administrative documents, the controversy gained momentum as questions began to be raised about various aspects of the ashram. While Sant Premanand Maharaj himself remains deeply devoted to spiritual practices and seclusion, the management style and conduct of certain sewadars and managers operating around him have come under intense scrutiny. Observers note that the involvement of elements misusing the guise of spiritual institutions for personal gains has prompted individuals to speak out openly.
Two Factions and Allegations of Wealth Accumulation
The letter sent to the Chief Minister claims that two distinct factions have emerged among the disciples and sewadars at Premanand Maharaj's ashram. One faction reportedly consists of genuine saints dedicated to meditation and penance, while the second faction faces severe allegations of engaging in commercial ventures and accumulating massive wealth under the shadow of the ashram. Furthermore, concerns have been raised regarding alleged illegal land dealings in the Yamuna Khadar region.
It has been alleged that donations and institutional properties are being utilized for personal enrichment. Local discussions suggest that distressed by these internal tensions, Sant Premanand Maharaj has occasionally preferred staying at his alternative retreat in Belvan.
Concerns Over Missing Minors and Security Lapses
One of the most sensitive aspects of the controversy involves the apprehension of minor children going missing from the ashram. The letter claims that several underage boys and girls visiting for spiritual activities often stay back, with numerous families searching for them for months. Recently, the disappearance of a 16-year-old boy from Hathras and a prolonged protest staged by his family outside the ashram brought these claims to the forefront. Although police successfully traced and recovered the boy from Ladli Ashram in Barsana, the incident exposed significant gaps in local monitoring.
In light of these troubling developments, demands have been raised for the State Child Rights Commission to intervene, clarify the status of all minors residing in the ashram, and mandate police verification for all administrative staff and sewadars to prevent any potential criminal activities.
Demand for Z-Plus Security and Comprehensive Investigation
Concluding the communication, the security of Sant Premanand Maharaj was emphasized as crucial for national and societal interest. Falahari Maharaj urged the Chief Minister to upgrade the spiritual leader's security to Z-Plus category and ensure all CCTV footage from the Kelikunj Ashram premises is securely preserved to prevent evidence tampering.
"While Sant Premanand Maharaj is completely immersed in spiritual devotion, a thorough high-level investigation into the suspicious activities of others operating under his banner is imperative to bring the truth to light." — Dinesh Falahari Maharaj, President, Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi Sangharsh Nyas
Administrative authorities stated that the facts presented in the letter and recent events are being thoroughly reviewed. Police and intelligence agencies are working to determine the extent of administrative lapses at Kelikunj Ashram and whether any criminal elements have infiltrated the spiritual institution. Further revelations are anticipated as the probe progresses.
