Normal Life in Ludhiana, But Toll Plaza Affected
In Ludhiana, major commercial hubs including Choura Bazar, Clock Tower Market, Railway Station Road, and Field Ganj Market remained open as usual with normal public movement and traffic flow. However, the impact of the shutdown call was visible at the Ladowal toll plaza. Activists from various farmer unions staged a demonstration and forced the toll plaza to allow unhindered movement of vehicles without paying any toll, though highway traffic remained otherwise smooth.
Police Action and Escalating Tensions
Punjab Police have successfully arrested the prime shooter, Ashwani, in connection with the murder. The killing led to massive outrage, with Nihang Sikhs recently vandalizing the accused's residence and setting a shop on fire. In response to the growing public pressure, the Bhagwant Mann-led state administration also initiated strict bulldozer action against the properties linked to the key accused.
