The top leadership of the Congress party held a high-level meeting with the workers of the Youth Congress, NSUI, and Seva Dal at Indira Bhawan in New Delhi. During the interaction, Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, gave a clear message to the grassroots workers to gear up for a prolonged political struggle. Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, General Secretary (Org) K.C. Venugopal, and General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra were also present.
Rahul Gandhi praised the courage of the workers who faced police action, lathi charges, and jail terms during various protests. Assuring them of the party's unwavering support, he told them not to be intimidated by legal cases. "Look at me, you must not fear and never get scared of FIRs," he said.
Carrying Forward the Campaign and Unique Protests
The meeting emphasized that protests raising constitutional and youth rights will continue unabated. Highlighting recent demonstrations, Rahul Gandhi reiterated that the movement must go forward with unrelenting determination. He lauded the unique protest methods adopted by NSUI and Youth Congress workers, affectionately calling them 'babbar sher' (brave lions).
During the session, several workers shared their harrowing experiences of police brutality and detention during recent agitations. Youth Congress President Udaybhanu Chib, facing multiple FIRs, stated that these cases were like medals of honor for him and that the cadre remains fully prepared for any eventuality.
'Government Has Only Months Left'
In a strong political assertion, Rahul Gandhi claimed that the current central government has only 8 to 9 months left and will not sustain beyond that period. The interactive session aimed to galvanize the youth wing and energize them for upcoming political challenges.
