Rakul Preet Singh Breaks Silence on IT Raids

Bollywood actress Rakul Preet Singh has finally broken her silence regarding the swirling rumors and media reports linking her and her family to recent Income Tax department searches in Mumbai. Over the past few days, several reports claimed that production houses and film personalities, including those associated with her father-in-law Vasu Bhagnani, were under the scanner for alleged financial irregularities and suspicious foreign transactions. Addressing the speculations head-on, Rakul took to her official social media handles to clear the air.

Expressing deep dismay over the nature of reporting, the actress stated that the recent search operations conducted by tax authorities had nothing to do with her. She criticized a section of the media for sensationalizing unverified news items purely for commercial gains, which ultimately harms an individual's hard-earned reputation and personal dignity.

Rooted in Armed Forces Values

Emphasizing her background, Rakul proudly shared that she comes from an armed forces family where discipline, integrity, and strict adherence to the law are paramount. Recalling her journey into the film industry, she noted that she started with no godfather and has built her career entirely through relentless hard work and dedication.

Furthermore, the actress highlighted that she has been a responsible and law-abiding citizen, regularly paying her taxes since the tender age of 20. She maintained that her financial practices have always been transparent and strictly compliant with legal frameworks.

Denial of Foreign Transactions and Benami Property

Addressing the specific allegations regarding illegal foreign transactions and funds being routed abroad for film projects, Rakul unequivocally rejected all such claims. She clarified that she is not involved in any unlawful financial dealings, either personally or through any production house.

The actress also firmly stated that she does not own any benami properties anywhere in India or abroad, nor does she accept expensive gifts as a matter of personal principle. She urged all media houses that published speculative and malicious stories to retract them immediately and issue necessary corrections.

"This is the truth once and for all. That search was not about me. I want everyone to know that I come from an armed forces background, had no godfather in the industry, and have been paying my taxes sincerely since I was 20 years old." — Rakul Preet Singh, Actress

Focus on Upcoming Cinematic Ventures

Aside from addressing these controversies, Rakul remains focused on her professional commitments. She is gearing up for her much-anticipated appearance in director Nitesh Tiwari's mega-budget cinematic project 'Ramayan', where she is set to essay the pivotal role of Shurpanakha alongside an ensemble star cast including Ranbir Kapoor and Sai Pallavi.
