Salman Khan's 'Matrubhumi' Cleared By Government, Prepares For Theatrical Release
Bollywood superstar Salman Khan's fans have a major reason to celebrate as his highly anticipated war drama film 'Matrubhumi' has finally cleared major regulatory hurdles. The Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (I&B) have officially issued a No Objection Certificate (NOC) for the new revised version of the film, paving the way for its theatrical run.
The movie is based on the 2020 military standoff between Indian and Chinese troops in the Galwan Valley. Due to the sensitive nature of the topic and evolving geopolitical dynamics between the two neighboring countries, the project faced administrative delays as the defense ministry had certain reservations about its original content.
Key Changes Made To The Original Draft Reflecting Positive Bilateral Ties
According to reports, following recent improvements in diplomatic relations between India and China, the filmmakers made substantial revisions to the script. The updated version submitted to the I&B ministry successfully addressed all previous concerns. Notably, the revised draft presents the bilateral relations in a more positive and balanced light, which ultimately satisfied ministry officials and secured the crucial NOC.
Targeting A November Release Date During The Festive Season
With the governmental clearances out of the way, Salman Khan and his production team are actively planning the release strategy. Industry sources indicate that the actor-producer is eyeing November 13 for the theatrical premiere. Believing that the post- दिवाली festive vibe will provide an ideal audience mood, the team is gearing up for an official announcement within the next ten days.
Final Approval Awaited From The Central Board of Film Certification
The final step remaining before the film hits the big screen is certification from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). The makers will soon submit the modified cut to the censor board. Directed by Apoorva Lakhia and co-starring Chitrangda Singh, 'Matrubhumi' promises to deliver an engaging cinematic experience once it successfully clears the final regulatory board.
