Comprehensive Preparations for Special Campaign 6.0
In a continuous effort to enhance administrative efficiency and streamline public grievance redresses, the central government has initiated preparations for Special Campaign 6.0. Following the formal launch by the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG), the Department of Pension and Pensioners' Welfare (DoPPW) has laid out concrete targets for the upcoming nationwide drive scheduled for October 2026.
The primary objective of this institutionalized campaign is to drastically reduce pendency, strengthen internal monitoring mechanisms, improve records management, and foster a citizen-centric approach through simplified rules. Senior officials have already inspected designated cleanliness sites across various office complexes to ensure strict adherence to the laid-out targets and timelines.
Targeting Grievances and Streamlining Records
As part of the month-long initiative, the DoPPW has set specific quantitative benchmarks. The department aims to resolve approximately 6,500 public grievances and address 800 pending appeals. Furthermore, a thorough review of 847 physical files and 653 electronic files has been scheduled to optimize office space and digitize legacy records.
To provide substantive relief to pensioners and citizens alike, 23 office memorandums focused on 'ease of living' will be issued. Additionally, the disposal of redundant office materials and scrap is projected to generate modest revenue, aligning with broader sustainability and waste management goals.
Nationwide Cleanliness Drives and Green Initiatives
Beyond file management, the campaign places immense emphasis on environmental consciousness and workplace hygiene. In collaboration with central government pensioners' associations, 21 distinct cleanliness sites have been identified across the country for intensive sanitation drives.
Under the 'Swachhata Hi Seva' initiative, senior dignitaries and ministry officials are slated to participate in plantation drives at prominent venues in New Delhi. Daily progress reports will be meticulously monitored and uploaded onto the central SCDPM portal to maintain absolute transparency and accountability across all participating divisions.
