A New Strategy to Engage Punjab's Youth
As the political landscape heats up ahead of the upcoming assembly elections, the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) has rolled out a fresh strategy to capture the imagination of the youth and first-time voters. In a departure from traditional political rallies and heavy speeches, SAD President Sukhbir Singh Badal has initiated a direct dialogue campaign titled 'Vibe Punjab Di'. The objective is to bridge the gap between political leadership and the younger generation by inviting open, unfiltered conversations.
The campaign kicked off at the historic Khalsa College in Patiala, where students had the unique opportunity to interact directly with the SAD chief. Instead of a scripted political monologue, the floor was opened for students to ask questions, raise concerns, and share their perspectives on the future of the state. This grassroots approach marks a significant shift in how regional parties are trying to connect with modern voters.
Tackling Tough Questions on Law, Economy, and Unemployment
The interactive session at Khalsa College was far from a comfortable ride, as students openly questioned Sukhbir Singh Badal on pressing issues plaguing the state. Young minds raised serious concerns regarding the deteriorating law and order situation, the state's burgeoning financial debt, economic stagnation, and the lack of proper employment opportunities. Female students, in particular, voiced their worries about women's safety in Punjab.
Amidst the serious policy discussions, the session also witnessed lighter moments when a local food blogger casually asked the politician about his culinary preferences. Demonstrating remarkable patience and candor, Badal addressed all queries and even shared personal anecdotes about his relationship with his daughters, successfully breaking the ice with the young audience.
"The energy and sharp questions from the youth reflect the true pulse of our democracy. We are fully committed to securing a prosperous future for the youth of Punjab." — Sukhbir Singh Badal, President, Shiromani Akali Dal
Expanding the Outreach: Door-to-Door Campaigns and Bus Yatra
Building upon the momentum of the 'Vibe Punjab Di' initiative, the Shiromani Akali Dal has chalked out an extensive outreach program across Punjab. Starting October 6, party workers will launch a massive door-to-door campaign to expose the alleged failures of the ruling AAP government while gathering public inputs to draft the party's upcoming election manifesto.
Furthermore, Harsimrat Kaur Badal’s 'Mawan-Dhiyan Insaf Yatra' will be intensified to spotlight issues concerning drug abuse and women's safety. Capping off these preparatory measures, Sukhbir Singh Badal is scheduled to embark on a statewide bus tour in November, setting the stage for a high-stakes electoral battle in Punjab.
