The political landscape of Telangana has witnessed a significant upheaval as the ruling Congress party faced a major setback with several key leaders resigning from the organization to join the opposition Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS). The high-profile political defection took place during a special joining ceremony organized at the BRS district office in Rangareddy, marking a crucial moment for regional politics.

KTR Welcomes New Entrants into BRS Fold
The joining ceremony was spearheaded by BRS working president and prominent leader K. T. Rama Rao (KTR), who warmly welcomed the new members into the party fold. Accompanied by Rajendranagar assembly constituency in-charge Patlola Karthik Reddy, KTR presented traditional pink scarves to the leaders symbolizing their formal induction into the regional party.
Several senior BRS leaders, including former ministers Sabitha Indra Reddy, Jagadish Reddy, Srinivas Goud, MLA Padi Kaushik Reddy, and MLC Naveen Reddy, graced the event with their presence. The gathering of prominent opposition figures underscored the strategic importance of this political development.
Key Local Leaders Who Left Congress
The list of leaders who transitioned to the BRS includes several influential community figures and local representatives. Former District Congress Vice President B. Sai Reddy, along with former MPTC members and market committee directors B. Raju, Yalala Naresh, Papalal Singh, Jayhind Rao, and corporator Yalala Lavanya, officially severed ties with Congress.
With deep-rooted connections in their respective constituencies, these leaders bring substantial grassroots influence to their new political platform. Their departure highlights simmering discontent within local party ranks regarding organizational management and governance issues.
Harsh Criticism of State Government Policies
During the event, BRS leader KTR launched a scathing attack on the ruling administration, accusing the government of fostering a climate of suppression over the past three years. He questioned administrative restrictions on public events and cultural gatherings, while alleging widespread corruption and bureaucratic hurdles.
KTR also criticized the handling of key infrastructure initiatives, claiming that crucial public works such as the metro rail expansion and riverfront development projects have been unnecessarily stalled due to political motivations, causing disappointment among citizens across various sections of society.
