A Major Political Shift in Maharashtra
The political landscape of Maharashtra is witnessing a dramatic shift as estranged cousins Uddhav ठाकरे and Raj Thackeray have come together on a single platform. The leaders are leading a massive protest march in Mumbai against the Election Commission's functioning and alleged discrepancies in voter lists.
The opposition parties have raised serious concerns over the Special Summary Revision (SIR) process, accusing the poll body of arbitrarily deleting voter names. Congress and NCP (Sharad Pawar faction) have also extended their full support to this high-profile agitation, turning it into a united opposition show of strength.
Security Tightened and Route Altered
Following strict directives from Mumbai Police, the route of the protest march was slightly modified. The rally now commences from Metro Cinema and culminates at the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) headquarters. Heavy police deployment has been ensured across sensitive locations to maintain law and order.
Leaders from various parts of the state have urged citizens to join the movement, emphasizing that the fight is to protect the Constitution and democratic values of the country. While the Election Commission has consistently refuted these allegations of bias, the political pressure continues to mount with opposition leaders demanding accountability.
