How the Fatal Accident Unfolded
The victim, identified as Sujatha, was actively helping with the food preparations for the Annadanam event. Cooking for large crowds requires massive utensils, often filled with boiling liquids cooked over large stoves. While a large vessel filled with boiling sambhar was being moved, Sujatha's footing reportedly gave way.
Losing her balance, she accidentally slipped and fell straight into the massive container of boiling liquid. The severity of the mishap left everyone in absolute shock, as rescue efforts were immediately launched to pull her out from the scalding contents.
Hospital Battle and Police Investigation
Sujatha suffered critical burn injuries across her body and was rushed to a local hospital in Vijayawada for emergency medical attention. Despite the best efforts of the medical staff to save her, her injuries were too severe, and she succumbed to them during treatment.
Authorities revealed that the entire sequence of events was captured on nearby CCTV cameras. The police have registered a case and initiated a detailed probe to ascertain the exact cause of the slip and to check whether adequate safety measures and protocols were followed while handling large industrial-sized cooking vessels during the community event.
