Youth Murdered Over Cigarette Dispute and Derogatory Remark Against Female Friend

A minor altercation triggered by asking for a cigarette escalated into a fatal stabbing, claiming the life of a 26-year-old youth. The tragic incident, which unfolded due to a sudden escalation of violence over inappropriate remarks toward a female friend, has left the local community in shock.

Engineering Graduate Preparing for Competitive Exams

The victim, Chitresh Sahare, originally hailed from Kawardha and had completed his civil engineering degree. He was in town to appear for competitive examinations as he aspired to secure a government job. The untimely and violent end to his life has shattered his family's dreams.

At the time of the incident, Chitresh was visiting his friend's PG room along with his female friend and her sister. Tensions flared when occupants from another room approached them.

Escalation Over Remarks and Stabbing

According to reports, the confrontation began over asking for a cigarette but quickly escalated when derogatory remarks were passed regarding Chitresh's female companion. The heated argument soon turned into a physical scuffle.

During the altercation, the accused attacked Chitresh with a sharp weapon. The deep stab wound to his thigh caused severe blood loss. Although he was rushed to a nearby hospital by bystanders and friends, doctors pronounced him dead upon arrival.

Swift Police Action and Arrest of Accused

Promptly responding to the crime, local law enforcement formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT). Demonstrating swift action, the police apprehended both suspects within an hour of the incident. The accused, identified as Rajkumar Yadav and Vaibhav Mankar, worked as delivery personnel.

The police have registered a case of murder and sent both accused into judicial custody as further legal proceedings continue.
