20th Rozgar Mela Held in Chennai to Empower Youth
Union Minister of State for Communications and Rural Development, Dr. Chandrasekhar Pemmasani, addressed the 20th Rozgar Mela in Chennai, distributing appointment letters to newly inducted government recruits and congratulating their families. Highlighting the significance of public service, the Minister emphasized that securing a government job remains a crucial aspiration for many young Indians, reflecting their hard work and perseverance.
With the latest edition of the Rozgar Mela, approximately 12.75 lakh youth have now received appointment letters through this nationwide employment initiative. A total of over 51,000 candidates received their appointment letters across the country during this leg of the event. The initiative continues to serve as a major stepping stone for employment generation in India.
Emphasizing Integrity and the Human Element in Governance
Sharing his personal journey from a simple family background to becoming a doctor, entrepreneur, and public representative, Dr. Pemmasani stressed the importance of continuous learning and adaptability. He urged the newly appointed officers to view administrative files not merely as routine paperwork, but as matters representing critical aspects of citizens' lives.

He encouraged the youth to question existing operational practices, verify facts objectively, and avoid blindly following procedures just because they are customary. He also advised them to leverage digital learning resources and AI tools effectively while seeking guidance from experienced colleagues.
Highlighting India's Remarkable Growth Since 2014
Reflecting on the monumental transformation of India under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi since 2014, Dr. Pemmasani highlighted massive advancements in governance, infrastructure, technology, and public service delivery. He noted that India's mobile manufacturing ecosystem has expanded exponentially from just two units in 2014-15 to nearly 300 units today, leading to a dramatic surge in domestic mobile production.
The Minister also pointed out significant infrastructural progress, including the rapid expansion of national highway networks, accelerated railway electrification, and the introduction of Vande Bharat trains. Furthermore, India's defense exports have witnessed a stellar rise from around Rs 600 crore in 2013-14 to approximately Rs 30,000 crore in 2025-26, underscoring the success of indigenous manufacturing initiatives.
Guiding Principles for a Visionary Future Towards 2047
Concluding his address, Dr. Pemmasani advised the new recruits to always keep three guiding principles in mind throughout their careers: the citizen, their families, and their own youthful aspirations. He urged them to continuously introspect whether they are living up to the profound trust placed in them by the nation and the citizens they serve, keeping the goal of a developed India by 2047 at the core of their public service journey.
