The seven-day session of the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly begins on Monday amidst stringent security arrangements across the Union Territory. The session is expected to witness high-voltage political drama as the ruling alliance and the opposition gear up for a showdown over multiple governance issues. According to the calendar issued by Speaker Abdul Rahim Rather, the session will commence with obituary references followed by legislative business.
Security has been heavily beefed up around the assembly complex and arterial routes leading to it. Senior police officials are personally monitoring the security apparatus, deploying advanced surveillance and stringent frisking measures to ensure smooth and peaceful proceedings.
Opposition Prepares to Corner Government on Jobs and Corruption

They argue that the administration has completely lost touch with ground realities.

The PDP has stated that it will aggressively raise concerns regarding mounting unemployment, flaws in the new reservation policy, and the regularization of daily-wage workers. Meanwhile, the Congress party, which provides outside support to the government, is also expected to voice its concerns over administrative delays and policy implementation.
