Namo Seva street play highlights central welfare schemes in Hamirpur
A unique initiative to raise public awareness about government welfare schemes was witnessed in Kurara town of Hamirpur district, Uttar Pradesh. A special street play was organized on Sunday under the 'Sewa Sankalp Abhiyan', drawing a large number of local residents. The primary objective of this event was to present various central government welfare schemes in a simple and conversational manner to the common public.
Held at the Beri Tiraha, the event featured impressive performances by the artists of Bharatiya Kala Manch. Titled 'Namo Seva—Anankahi Kahaniyan', the play depicted the positive impacts of government policies on the lives of ordinary citizens through art and performance.
Focus on Beti Bachao, Ujjwala, and Kisan Samman Nidhi
The script of the play primarily focused on schemes directly related to women, farmers, and common households. The 'Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao' campaign emphasized stopping female foeticide and promoting girl child education. Additionally, the benefits of the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana and the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi were effectively portrayed on stage.
Artists used dialogues and acting to demonstrate how government policies are transforming lives in rural and semi-urban areas. The audience appreciated the performance with applause, proving that conveying information through cultural mediums leaves a lasting impact.
Strong public participation and local leadership presence
A large crowd gathered at Beri Tiraha to watch the street play. The realistic portrayal of common life challenges and their governmental solutions deeply resonated with the audience. Prominent political and social workers, including assembly co-coordinator Indraprakash Bajpai, mandal coordinator Ramvilas Srivas, and mandal president Mohan Kushwaha, were present at the event, encouraging the artists and interacting with the public.
