Rajasthan Government Approves Rs 401 Crore for Government School Infrastructure
In a major push to revamp the educational infrastructure across the state, the Rajasthan government has cleared an administrative approval of Rs 401.03 crore for the construction and reconstruction of government school buildings. Funded under the NABARD RIDF-XXXII scheme, this financial package aims to build new modern facilities in 472 government schools across various districts.
According to the Rajasthan School Education Council, the newly approved project encompasses 261 primary schools, 128 upper primary schools, and 83 senior secondary schools. The move comes as a much-needed relief for students in rural and backward areas who have long been struggling with dilapidated classrooms and a lack of basic facilities.
Category-Wise Budget Allocation and Modern Facilities
The state education department has meticulously planned the financial distribution based on the specific needs of each school category. As per the guidelines, an average of Rs 41 lakh has been allocated per primary school, Rs 65 lakh per upper primary school, and Rs 2.54 crore for each senior secondary school.
This comprehensive fund is not only designated for concrete structures and walls but also covers essential modern amenities. The budget includes provisions for student furniture, laboratory equipment for science and computer labs, smart classrooms, proper electricity connections, and clean drinking water facilities. Strict quality control measures have also been integrated into the financial planning.
Udaipur Tops District-Wise Allocation List
A district-wise breakdown reveals that Udaipur has received the highest allocation, with funds sanctioned for building and repairing infrastructure in 113 schools. Following Udaipur, Jhalawar has 84 schools included in the list, while Sawai Madhopur has 39 schools. Additionally, 33 schools in Banswara, 27 in Baran, and 10 schools in Jaipur have been approved for development.
State Education Minister Madan Dilawar emphasized that the government has disbursed nearly Rs 3,000 crore so far specifically for building school infrastructure. He reiterated that the administration is determined to ensure no school remains without a proper building, thereby providing a secure and conductive learning environment for every child in Rajasthan.
