BJP is doing 'Votebandi' after demonetisation, alleges Sachin Pilot over electoral lists

Punjab Congress in-charge and senior leader Sachin Pilot has raised serious questions over the impartiality of the Election Commission and the central government. Speaking at a public platform, he alleged that after 'notebandi' (demonetisation), the ruling party is now executing 'votebandi' across the country by arbitrarily removing millions of voters from electoral rolls.

Serious Allegations Against the Election Commission

Criticizing the functioning of the Chief Election Commissioner, Pilot stated that critical decisions are being made without the unanimous consent of all commissioners, which he termed unlawful. Highlighting instances from various states where large numbers of voters were allegedly purged from lists, he demanded a thorough judicial inquiry into the matter to restore the credibility of India's democratic institutions.

Attacking the AAP Government in Punjab

Targeting the Punjab government over governance and law and order, Pilot claimed that the state is facing severe administrative paralysis and drug-related crises. He dismissed the pre-election financial assistance schemes by the state government as mere political gimmicks, asserting that the funds should have been utilized to strengthen law enforcement and curb the drug menace.
