Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has once again launched a sharp verbal attack on the working style of previous governments and the old administrative system of the state. The Chief Minister clearly stated that before 2017, nepotism and corruption completely dominated the government job recruitment process in Uttar Pradesh. During that era, merit was sidelined, creating an environment of deep frustration and despair among the capable and hardworking youth of the state.
Comparing the old system with the current law and order and administrative reforms during an event in Lucknow, CM Yogi explained how closely he observed and experienced Uttar Pradesh's social and administrative system before 2017. At that time, the youth of the state were forced to wander in search of jobs because the selection processes were completely suspicious and partisan. The entire system was exploited to benefit a particular family or caste, shattering the dreams of children from common and poor families.
A New Era of Transparency in Recruitment
The Chief Minister further stated that when his government took charge in 2017, the biggest challenge was to bring the system back on track. Strict steps were taken to root out corruption prevailing in the administrative machinery. Major reforms were made in the Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission and other recruitment boards to ensure there was no scope for rigging at any level.
The government claims that in recent years, lakhs of youth have been given jobs in a transparent manner. The impartial selection process in UP Police, teacher recruitment, and other departments has restored the youth's faith in the system. Youth who were once forced to leave the state out of despair are now staying and showcasing their talent within Uttar Pradesh.
Accusations Against Previous Governments
Targeting the Samajwadi Party and other opposition parties, the Chief Minister said that the intent of previous governments was flawed. Instead of development and merit, they were busy favoring their close ones. When selection lists were released, names of people from a particular region or family were seen in abundance, shaking the public's faith in the democratic system.
CM Yogi stated that the double-engine government has buried this culture of dynastic politics and nepotism forever. Today, merit is the sole criterion in Uttar Pradesh. Whether it is the son of a poor person or a farmer, if he has the capability, he is getting the opportunity to serve the state.
