The Caribbean Premier League (CPL 2026) concluded with an enthralling title clash as the Antigua and Barbuda Falcons defeated the Jamaica Kingsmen by eight wickets to claim their maiden championship. The high-stakes encounter, which began in the early hours, witnessed stellar performances and rewriting of record books.
Batting first, the Jamaica Kingsmen posted a competitive total of 170/9 in their allotted overs. However, the Falcons' batters made light work of the target, chasing it down with 20 balls to spare and losing just two wickets in the process.
Explosive Start by Cornwall and Jangoo
Chasing the target, the Falcons got off to a blistering start. Rahheem Cornwall went after the bowling from the very first over, hammering Saim Ayub for 20 runs. Although Cornwall departed after scoring 20 off just 6 balls, he laid a solid foundation.

Maz Sadaqat's Century Goes in Vain
Despite the loss, Jamaica's Maz Sadaqat played a legendary innings, scoring an unbeaten 114 off 58 balls. This remarkable knock made him the first-ever batsman to score a century in a CPL final, though it wasn't enough to secure the trophy.
