A 21-year-old youth who had returned to his native village from Gujarat to celebrate a festival was brutally murdered within days of his arrival. The chilling incident, reported from the Banda district of Uttar Pradesh, has sent shockwaves through the region. According to police, the victim was beaten to death with sticks, and his body was later dumped outside his own house.
The Fatal Night and the Discovery
The incident took place under the Pailani police station jurisdiction in Banda. The deceased worked as a laborer in Gujarat and had come home for the festivities. He visited his relative's (uncle's) house, where both of them consumed alcohol together. Later, the uncle went up to the roof to sleep. When he woke up and came downstairs, he allegedly found the youth in a compromising position with his wife.
Blinded by rage, the husband attacked the youth repeatedly with a wooden stick, resulting in fatal injuries. To cover up the crime, the accused, with the help of an accomplice, shifted the body and dumped it right at the victim's doorstep before fleeing. When family members discovered the body the next morning, panic ensued, prompting an immediate police investigation.
Police Action and Counter Allegations
Banda Deputy SP Pratibha Singh stated that the police team rushed to the spot immediately after receiving information. Both named accused have been taken into custody, and the body was sent for a post-mortem examination. Meanwhile, the woman involved has also leveled allegations of rape, which the police are thoroughly investigating to uncover the complete sequence of events that transpired on that fateful night.
