In a major development against organized crime, a wanted cow smuggler was killed in a high-stakes police encounter in the early hours of Thursday. The accused, who had a long criminal record, sustained fatal injuries during retaliatory firing after he attacked a police team.
Early Morning Chase and Cross-Firing
According to reports, the Crime Staff team was tracking the wanted suspect around 4:00 AM near Silani village. The accused was identified as Shahid, alias 'Advani', a resident of Kharkhari, Tauru, who had been evading law enforcement for a considerable period.
When police attempted to intercept him, the cornered criminal opened direct fire on the law enforcement team. In self-defense and to maintain public safety, the police retaliated, resulting in a intense exchange of gunfire.
