Job Fair at Seer Utsav Brings Employment Opportunities to Local Youth
The traditional Seer Utsav in Ghumarwin, Himachal Pradesh, turned out to be a stepping stone for local youth as a mega job fair was organized by the Department of Labour, Employment and Foreign Employment in collaboration with BBNIA. Technical Education Minister Rajesh Dhamani inaugurated the event, emphasizing the government's commitment to bridging the gap between education and industry requirements.
Over 16 prominent companies participated in the recruitment drive, conducting interviews for more than 400 candidates. Following rigorous selection rounds, approximately 200 candidates were successfully shortlisted and selected for various positions, while others were invited to corporate offices for further rounds. ITI students and local graduates gained valuable practical exposure to professional hiring processes through this initiative.
Introducing the 'Meel' App to Bridge the Gap Between Youth and Industries
To ensure long-term employment support, Minister Rajesh Dhamani launched the 'MEEL' (Mobile Employment and Education Link) app during the event. This digital platform acts as a bridge between job seekers and over 600 industrial units associated with BBNIA. Candidates can register for free, update their technical skills and preferences, and get automatically matched with suitable corporate openings.
The minister highlighted that upcoming skill academies in Ghumarwin will focus on futuristic domains such as Artificial Intelligence, Data Analytics, Digital Marketing, and Electric Vehicle technology. By combining modern training initiatives with digital portals like 'Meel' and 'Rozgar Setu', the Himachal Pradesh government is steadily paving the way for a self-reliant and professionally skilled young workforce.
