Jio Platforms IPO: Global Investor Roadshows and Documentation

Reliance Industries' digital services arm, Jio Platforms, is actively moving forward with its landmark initial public offering. Following extensive discussions and meetings with global institutional investors across major financial hubs like the US, UK, Dubai, Singapore, and Hong Kong, led by Akash Ambani and Isha Ambani, the company has started finalizing its draft documents.

Market watchers anticipate that the mega IPO could hit the market by late 2026, possibly around the festive season. The final pricing, including the price band and subsequent Grey Market Premium, will be revealed once the official price band is announced by the conglomerate.

SEBI Approval and Shareholder Quota Details

SEBI issued its final observations on August 28, clearing the path for the IPO after initial draft papers were submitted in June. The company plans to issue up to 270 million new equity shares, representing roughly 2.9% of its post-issue equity base, with an estimated valuation of approximately $137 billion.

Furthermore, the draft prospectus outlines a special reservation category for existing shareholders of Reliance Industries, though exact percentage allocations will only be confirmed upon filing the final Red Herring Prospectus.

Debt Reduction and Market Leadership

A significant portion of the proceeds generated from the IPO will be utilized to prepay or repay outstanding debt amounting to around ₹27,500 crore for Reliance Jio Infocomm, strengthening the company's financial standing.

With over 50.6 million mobile subscribers and a dominant market share of nearly 39.29% in India's telecom sector as of June, Jio Platforms commands immense investor confidence as it prepares for its market debut.
