Maruti Suzuki Leads the Indian Passenger Vehicle Market
The Indian automotive landscape is witnessing a massive surge in demand for Maruti Suzuki vehicles as the festive season approaches. Showrooms across the country are seeing heavy footfall, resulting in a backlog of over two lakh pending car deliveries. This unprecedented demand highlights the unwavering trust of Indian consumers in the brand's diverse vehicle lineup.
Industry experts note that this buying momentum is likely to peak during the upcoming festive weeks. To bridge the gap between heavy demand and limited dealer inventory, Maruti's management has ramped up operations across its manufacturing facilities to ensure timely vehicle deliveries for eager customers.
Maruti Brezza Emerges as the Ultimate Blockbuster SUV
At the center of this sales wave is the newly updated Maruti Brezza, which has crossed the milestone of 95,000 bookings and is rapidly approaching the one-lakh mark. The compact SUV recorded over 15,000 unit sales in the previous month alone, proving its dominance in the highly competitive utility vehicle segment.
Customer preferences for the Brezza are well-balanced across various powertrains. Approximately 38 percent of the bookings account for the turbo version, 40 percent for the factory-fitted CNG variant, and 22 percent for the traditional 1.5-litre petrol engine model, catering to diverse driving needs.
Production Boost at Kharkhoda Plant to Meet Demand
To address the mounting waiting periods, Maruti Suzuki has accelerated production at its state-of-the-art facility in Kharkhoda, Haryana. The company has successfully increased its monthly SUV supply from 50,000 units to 56,000 units, ensuring a steady stream of vehicles reaches dealership floors.
Despite dealer networks holding only about 17 days of stock at the start of October, the aggressive production strategy aims to normalize delivery timelines. Senior executives have confirmed that seasonal demand remains robust, unaffected by minor weather fluctuations.
