Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has launched a sharp verbal attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), accusing it of systematically weakening other political parties and allies. During a public interaction, Mann claimed that leaders who switch sides and join the BJP eventually lose their political stature and significance.
Citing multiple political examples, the Punjab CM asserted that the ruling party employs tactics to sideline regional leaders and absorb their political capital.
Taking a jibe at leaders who defect to the BJP, Mann remarked, "The leaders who used to sit at the center table during press conferences are now seen sitting on corner chairs." He recalled how parties led by Nitish Kumar, Uddhav Thackeray, and Sharad Pawar faced internal fractures and strategic setbacks. Warning about future political equations, Mann bluntly stated, "Now it is Chirag Paswan's turn."
He also criticized Union Ministers Jyotiraditya Scindia and Ravneet Singh Bittu, claiming that despite holding high-profile central portfolios, they fail to deliver on basic regional demands for Punjab, often citing jurisdictional limitations.
