New Delhi/Ground Bureau — Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar has found himself at the center of a fresh controversy following demands from the Urdu press for his resignation over questions regarding the Election Commission's credibility. While critics argue that the institutional integrity of the poll panel is at stake, the Election Commission has firmly defended its actions, stating that every step taken by them is strictly guided by the Constitution and electoral laws.
Amidst the escalating political row, CEC Gyanesh Kumar recently attended a Booth Level Officer conference in Indore to review grassroots election preparations and strengthen administrative coordination. The commission has strongly emphasized the need for officials to actively counter misinformation and fake news surrounding elections, urging officers to provide prompt and factual clarifications to maintain public trust in the democratic process.
