A major accident occurred in the insurgency-affected region of Chhattisgarh during the disposal of recovered explosives, leaving four Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel injured. The incident took place near a security camp as a specialized technical team was carrying out routine neutralization of dangerous materials.
Details of the Accidental Blast
According to official reports, the Ammunition Technician Team (ATT) had arrived from Jagdalpur to destroy unexploded ordnance and recovered materials safely near a local stream. During the disposal process, a fragment of an explosive reportedly flew some distance away and triggered an unexpected secondary blast, catching the security personnel off guard.
Injured Personnel and Hospitalization
Four personnel sustained injuries in the mishap. Two ASIs, identified as M.K. Tiwari and Aneesh Khan, suffered serious injuries. Meanwhile, Inspector Amarnath Mishra and Head Constable Kulदीप Raj sustained minor injuries.
All injured personnel were immediately rushed to a nearby medical facility for emergency treatment. Doctors are closely monitoring the condition of the critically injured officers, and arrangements are being made to shift them to a higher medical center if necessary. Authorities have confirmed that the situation is currently under control.
