The hill state of Uttarakhand is currently grappling with rising cases of seasonal illnesses as the weather transitions. Amid fluctuating temperatures, health authorities have reported a significant increase in Influenza A H1N1 (Swine Flu) and Dengue cases, particularly in the Dehradun district.
According to official health reports, the total number of Swine Flu cases in the district has climbed to 648 following the detection of new samples. While a vast majority of these patients—over 600—have successfully recovered, active cases remain under medical supervision. Health officials have confirmed that death audits are conducted meticulously for any severe cases to improve future clinical protocols.
Simultaneously, Dengue has added to the health concerns, with the total tally reaching 222 cases in the region. Although most patients have recovered, proactive measures are underway to curb vector-borne transmission. Dehradun health teams, along with ASHA workers, have intensified door-to-door surveys, inspecting thousands of containers and destroying mosquito larvae found in stagnant water.
Authorities urge citizens to maintain strict hygiene, avoid water stagnation around their homes, and seek immediate medical attention if they experience persistent fever, body ache, or cold symptoms. Timely testing and public cooperation remain critical in combating these seasonal outbreaks.
