Delhi Electoral Roll Revision: Election Commission Clears the Air
Administrative activities in the national capital have intensified to streamline electoral rolls ahead of upcoming polls. Recently, the office of the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of Delhi organized a high-level meeting with representatives of all recognized political parties. The primary agenda of this crucial consultation was the Special Intensive Revision of Electoral Rolls 2026. The Election Commission is continuously taking robust steps to make the electoral process transparent, fair, and flawless, ensuring that every eligible citizen can exercise their democratic right.
During the meeting, extensive discussions were held regarding the timeline for filing claims and objections, adding or removing names, and rectifying errors in the voter list. Election officials shared the framework of the entire revision process with political representatives, assuring them that the exercise would be completely transparent and inclusive to ensure no eligible citizen is left out.
Notice Doesn't Mean Deletion: Commission Addresses Concerns
Addressing various queries and concerns raised by political parties, the CEO's office clarified that the names of voters who have been issued notices, along with the specific reasons for issuance, have been made public. The commission strongly emphasized that receiving a notice does not automatically mean a voter's name is being deleted from the rolls.
Officials explained that notices are merely part of the verification process. Voters have been given time until the 29th of next month to submit their responses, present necessary documents, and file claims or objections. Citizens can resolve their issues through their respective Booth Level Officers (BLOs) or electoral offices within this stipulated timeframe.
Fair Hearing and Transparent Procedure Guaranteed
The Election Commission has reiterated its commitment to protecting every valid voter's rights. According to guidelines, issuing an official notice, providing a fair opportunity for a personal hearing, and passing appropriate formal orders are mandatory before any name can be removed from the electoral roll.

Political parties have also been urged to encourage their Booth Level Agents (BLAs) to guide common people toward these camps.
