New Delhi: Political tensions in the national capital escalated significantly when Delhi Police intercepted and detained key leaders of the opposition INDIA bloc during their march from the Parliament House complex towards the Election Commission. A video capturing these developments has surfaced online, showing leaders being detained and escorted into buses.
According to primary reports, the opposition leaders were marching towards the Election Commission office when police halted them on Parliament Street. Following the blockade, the leaders staged a sit-in dharna on the street. To maintain law and order, police eventually detained the leaders and moved them in buses. Prior to the march, a crucial meeting of the INDIA bloc was held at Delhi's Constitution Club, attended by prominent figures including Rahul Gandhi, KC Venugopal, and Pawan Khera.
The video shared widely on social media has triggered diverse reactions from netizens and political analysts. While opposition supporters criticized the police action, authorities maintained that the restrictions were necessary to prevent disruptions to public order and traffic.
