The alleged sexual harassment and mistreatment of three female journalists during an AISA protest at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi has triggered widespread outrage. Videos and discussions surrounding the incident have gone viral on social media platforms, prompting authorities to transfer the investigation to the Delhi Police Crime Branch.
In a video shared by news agency PTI on X, CJP co-convenor Saurav Das is seen stating that the entire journalist community and protesters will mobilize to demand an FIR against the police officer involved in the alleged assault. Political leaders, including Rahul Gandhi, have also questioned authorities over the safety and freedom of journalists.
As pressure mounts from media associations and civil society, the Crime Branch has initiated a thorough probe into the allegations. Authorities have assured that appropriate legal action will follow once the investigation establishes the facts of the incident.
