Under joint schemes of the education and sports departments, a massive amount of 98 lakh rupees has been approved for the development of sports facilities in government schools of Rewari district. The main objective of this financial grant is to provide better sports infrastructure to children studying in rural and semi-urban government schools so that their talent can be properly channeled.
It is often observed that due to a lack of resources, children in government schools lag behind in sports competitions. They neither have leveled fields to play on nor modern equipment for practice. With this new funding, the situation is expected to improve significantly. Where Will the Approved Amount Be Spent?
The approved budget of 98 lakh rupees will be utilized in a completely transparent manner to strengthen sports-related infrastructure. Under the scheme, school sports grounds will be leveled, addressing issues like water logging during the rainy season. Additionally, facilities such as small athletic tracks, volleyball courts, basketball courts, and kabaddi mats will be developed.
Not just grounds, but necessary equipment for indoor games will also be purchased. These include badminton rackets, table tennis boards, carrom boards, and chess sets. Physical Training Instructors (PTIs) in schools have also been instructed to prepare lists of sports items according to the needs of their respective schools, ensuring timely procurement so students can benefit immediately.
