He played 85 Test matches, 90 One Day Internationals, and 2 T20 Internationals for India, scoring thousands of runs and earning a reputation as one of the finest overseas performers.

The pinnacle of Rahane's career undoubtedly came during the 2020-21 Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Australia.
