In the unpredictable world of cinema, no one knows when fate might knock on their door. The story of 21-year-old Anupriya Nagar, associated with the film ‘Hanuman Ansh’, is no different. Studying economics, Anupriya pursued her education abroad, secured a ‘dream job’ in Zurich, and was preparing for a comfortable life. However, her deep connection with the teachings and story of Neem Karoli Baba made her leave everything behind to invest in the film.
Interestingly, Anupriya did not enter the project at its inception. When the shooting of ‘Hanuman Ansh’ was complete and post-production was about to begin, the film needed funding. Anupriya read the script and in just a single sitting, she felt this was the opportunity she had long been waiting for.
Connection with Neem Karoli Baba and 120-Page Script
Anupriya never planned to enter the film industry. While studying economics in the UK, she secured a job in Zurich. During her final year project, researching tech founders, she came across Steve Jobs' visit to Neem Karoli Baba's Kainchi Dham. Inspired to share this wisdom with the younger generation, she crossed paths with producer Ragini Sona during a trip to India, learned about ‘Hanuman Ansh’, read the 120-page script in one go, and jumped on board as a co-producer.
Investing 50 Lakhs and Striking Gold
At just 21, Anupriya invested 50 lakh rupees—about a third of the film's 1.5 crore budget—using her savings from part-time jobs. While her family was initially shocked by her quitting a Zurich career for film financing, the unexpected box office success of the film has turned her bold bet into a massive financial triumph.
