State-level junior kho-kho championship to be held in Bihar this November
In a major boost to traditional sports in Bihar, preparations are in full swing for the upcoming state-level junior kho-kho championship, scheduled to be held this November. The district kho-kho association recently held a meeting under the chairmanship of A.K. Bose to finalize the roadmap for successfully hosting the prestigious event.
Association secretary Neeraj Kumar Sinha informed that boys and girls teams from 14 districts across the state will participate in the tournament. This mega sporting event will not only promote local talent but also act as the official selection platform for the Bihar squad that will compete in the national junior championship slated for January 2027.
Financial strengthening and community involvement
During the meeting, vice-president M.H. Rahman suggested expanding the association by inducting new members to broaden grassroots outreach. Additionally, vice-president Gautam Verma proposed that each member contribute an annual cooperation fee of 1,000 rupees to the association's bank account to ensure financial stability for future events.

The meeting concluded with a two-minute silence observed in memory of a departed national-level kho-kho player from the region, paying tribute to his invaluable contribution to the sport.
